The problem is that you need to supply two different values to the same column (i.e. One value is the value to locate the row and the other value is the new value you wish to set the column to. Is there any performance issue we face if we will update a table that doesn't have any primary key. Regards, Amit kumar sinha UPDATEs will be faster without keys but not having a primary key invites all kinds of issues when it comes time to actually make use of the data you are collecting.

But again technically on most of the major database server engines writing to the table will be slightly faster without keys since they will not exist to be updated/written to.
